On 14.07.2015, the draft of Minimum Wages (Central) Second Amendment Rules, 2015 was published in the Official Gazette to invite objections or suggestions from all persons likely to be affected by the amendments proposed in the said Rule.

The draft Rule proposes following amendments in the Minimum Wages (Central) Rules, 1950:

  • Substitutes the word ‘Sex’ with ‘Gender’ in Form I, in column 4 of the Rule;
  • Substitutes the word ‘Sex’ with ‘Gender’ in Form II, in column 4 of the Rule;
  • Substitutes the word ‘Sex’ with ‘Gender’ in Form 1V, in column 4 of the Rule;
  • Substitutes the word ‘Sex’ with ‘Gender’ in Form V, in column 4 of the Rule.

The objections or suggestions may be addressed to the Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, Shram Shakti Bhawan, Rafi Marg, New Delhi- 110 001.
