The Chief Justice of India with the approval of President in exercise of power conferred by Article 146 clause (2) of the Constitution of India makes “The Supreme Court Officers and Servants (Revised Pay) Rules, 2014” effecting the revision of pay scales of the certain categories of staff on the establishment of the Supreme Court of India. Rule 2 of the said Rules defines Existing Pay Band, Grade Pay and Revised Pay Band. Rule 3 deals with Revision of Pay Band; Rule 4 deals with Fixation of Pay in the revised Pay Band; Rule 5 and 6 deals with Provision regarding arrears of Pay and Allowances and Removal of difficulties respectively. The Schedule specifying the pay scales mentioned below:
