The Central Government in exercise of the powers conferred by section 78 of the Copyright Act, 1957 makes the Copyright (Amendment) Rules, 2016 in order to amend the Copyright Rules, 2013. They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

  1. In the Copyright Rules, 2013 (herein after referred to as the principal rules), in rule 3, in sub-rule (1), in the proviso, for the words “other member shall hold office”, the words “other members shall not hold office”, shall be substituted.
  2. In rule 70 of the principal rules, –

(a) in sub-rule (6), for the words, “in relation to any goods”, the words “in relation to any goods or services”, shall be substituted.

(b) in sub-rule (11), for the words and figures, “sub-rule (7)”, the words and figures “sub-rule (10)”, shall be substituted.

  1. In principal rules, in the First Schedule, in FORM XIV, under the heading ‘Statement of Particulars’, in item 14, for the words “in relation to any goods”, the words “in relation to any goods or services”, shall be substituted

  • I have paid fee for publication but no agreement on copy rights ,as an author can i submit it for competitions by Govt of India which can bring them to life , otherwise the essential knowledge die with out use ,can an original author go for competitions .

  • what are the copy rights to the author for science ideas in the form diagrams in a conference with out any agreement ?
