Center for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Law, Institute of Law, Nirma University in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) organized a three day teachers training programme on International Humanitarian Law from 30th August, 2016 to 1st September, 2016.

The training programme was intended for law teachers who are engaged in teaching law in LL.B. programmes (both five years and three years courses) and LL.M. international law programmes, human rights, humanitarian law and refugee law lecturers in law Colleges, law faculty/departments of the universities and law schools of the Gujarat Region. The main aim of the teacher training programme was to impart a basic overview of International Humanitarian Law and to provide training on specific and contemporary issues in IHL. The programme saw the participation of 20 Law Professors from across Gujarat.

The training was given through case studies and movies followed by interactive sessions and assessment.The training programme was inaugurated by Hon. Justice Bhagwati Prasad, Chairperson, State Human Rights Commission, Gujarat and the training sessions were headed by Dr. Anuradha Saibaba, Legal Advisor and Dr. Sunod M. Jacob, Legal Advisor ICRC, Regional Delegation, Delhi.
