The team comprising of Virendra Singh Ranawat (4th year), Mani Shankar Mani (3rd year) and Anjali Upadhyay (2nd year) from Institute of Law, Nirma University were declared as Runners Up in the prestigious 2nd NUSRL Trial Advocacy Competition, 2017. It is also pertinent to note that the articulate researching skill shown by Anjali Upadhyay made her bag the trophy for Best Researcher.

The event saw participation of teams from across the country, including the teams from colleges like NLIU Bhopal, RGNUL Patiala, CNLU Patna, NLUJAA Assam, GNLU, GLC Kerala, Christ University, etc. The team was pitched against Ambedkar School of Law, Chennai and NUALS, Kochi in the two preliminary rounds respectively and quite convincingly gained victory over the two teams and bagged 1st position among 16 teams. In the semifinals, the team was pitched against GNLU and defeated them with a huge margin, with their flawless advocacy skills and were also applauded by the judges for the same.
