As reported by The Times of India, Shri Achal Kumar Joti has been appointed as next Chief Election Commissioner. Election Commissioner Achal Kumar Joti will succeed Shri Nasim Zaidi as the next Chief Election Commissioner. The Ministry of Law announced Shri Joti’s appointment and said he will take charge as the CEC on July 6, when incumbent Shri Nasim Zaidi retires. 64-year-old Joti was appointed Election Commissioner in May 2015.
