Clarifying it’s Notification dated July 5th July 2014, which posed a major setback for the Law Schools and students of one year LLM by prescribing 2 year to be the minimum period of LLM degree, Univerity Grants Commission(UGC) said that the Universities which have established the Centre for Post Graduate Legal Studies in accordance with UGC Guidelines issued on January 18, 2013 are permitted to offer one year LLM degree program. However, it further instructed the Universities to ensure proper faculty, infrastructure, Library, teleconferencing facilities etc.  and also, that One year LLM Degree program will be allowed to be run only in Centre for Post Graduate Legal Studies for the candidates who have entry qualification of first degree plus LLB or who have successfully completed five year integrated program after 10+ 2.
