Reema Ray ((27 May 1982 – 6 September 2013) was a student of the second batch of NUJS, and graduated in 2006. Her family, friends and colleagues remember her as a rare person with exceptional qualities of heart and mind. Reema was an extremely well-regarded corporate lawyer working in one of India’s leading law firms. Reema faced her adversities with courage, grace and dignity, and passed away on 6 September 2013. 

In her memory the Society for International Trade and Competition holds a yearly essay competition. This years topic is “Unfairness in Commercial Contracts: Need for a Relook”. The topic normally connects with the business world especially since Reema had worked with law firms. 

Prizes for this year’s edition are:

1st prize: Gold Medal (with certificate) + Rs. 15,000 

2nd prize: Rs. 8,000 with Certificate

3rd prize: Rs. 5,000 with Certificate

In addition to this, ‘honourable mention certificates’ will be awarded to entries as per judges’ discretion.
