The President in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, appointed Justice Pradip Kumar Mohanty, senior-most Judge of Jharkhand High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from 7th October, 2016 consequent upon the retirement of Justice Virender Singh, Chief Justice, Jharkhand High Court.
