About: Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam in association with Competition Commission of India [CCI] is organising the 4th edition of the Damodaram Sanjivayya National Moot Court Competition from Feb 23-25, 2018.

In the recent years the Indian economy has been one of the best performers and is on high growth path. Competition is a process of economic rivalry between market players to attract customers. Competition also refers to a situation in a business environment where business independently strive for the patronage of customers in order to achieve their business objective. Free and fair competition is one of the pillars of an efficient business environment. Competition is indeed tough! The Competition Law is still in its infant stage, growing rapidly, thus, realizing the need of the current market scenario and the interest of the students, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, (DSNLU) is proud to declare its 4th DSNMC, 2018.

The theme of this year’s competition is ‘Competition Law’.

The DSNMC will be held from 23-25 February, 2018 at the college campus in Sabbavaram, Andhra Pradesh.

The previous editions have seen participation from different law schools across India competing against each other. We are proud of the high quality of judging by highly distinguished personalities of the Legal Fraternity in our previous editions. This year we mean to make the 4th DSNMC even more successful than the previous editions.

Eligibility Criteria:

Law schools/ Colleges/ Institutes/ Universities, recognized by the Bar Council of India, are eligible to participate in the competition. The participants should currently be pursuing their Bachelor’s degree in law i.e., Three Year or Five Year Law Courses.

Only one team can register from a particular Law schools/ Colleges/ Institutes/ University to participate in the DSNMC. Further information on the competition is available in the Rules of the Competition. There is a team cap of 32 teams.

Important Dates:

· Registration Opens: 7th December, 2017

· Last Date for Online Registration and payment of fees: 10th January, 2018

· Last Date for soft-copy submissions of memorial: 10th February, 2018

· Last date for hard-copy submissions of Memorial: 16th February, 2018

· Dates of the Competition: 23rd – 25th February, 2018

Prizes:

The winning team shall be awarded a trophy and a cash prize of 30,000 INR.

The Runner’s Up Team shall be awarded a trophy and cash prize of 15,000 INR.

The Best Memorial shall be awarded with a cash prize of 10,000 INR.

The Best Speaker in Preliminary Round shall be awarded with a cash prize of 8000 INR.

The Best Speaker in the Final Round shall be awarded with a cash prize of 8000 INR.
