Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow is pleased to announce the seventh edition of the flagship mooting event, RMLNLU SCC Online International Media Law Moot 2019 to be held on March 1st to 3rd, 2019 at Lucknow, India.

Established in 2006, the University came into being under the aegis of the National Law Universities set up across India, with the singular objective of advancing and disseminating learning and knowledge of law and legal process along with via world-class infrastructural facilities and environment. It sought to develop in the students and research scholars a sense of responsibilities to serve the society in the field of law by developing skills in advocacy, judicial and other legal services and legislation.

In association with Eastern Book Company and SCC Online®, this competition is organised to encourage excellence and develop interest of law students in the thriving field of contemporary International Media law. In the six short years since its inception, the competition has grown from humble beginnings to being a center stage for the confluence of ideas, garnering both national and international participation, thereby cementing its position in the national mooting circuit. The competition has seen distinguished justices from various High Courts as well as the Supreme Court of India, among other luminaries in the legal field as the judges in the competition.
Further, Eastern Book Company sponsors generous award money and a plethora of prizes in the form of books, SCC Online web edition access cards, among others, for the meritorious participants.

The 7th edition of the competition promises to further our commitment to recognize the promising legal minds from across the world.

Eligibility and Team Structure

  • Students pursuing the three or five year courses of the LL.B. degree or its equivalent in the academic year 2018 – 2019 from any recognized law school/college/university in India/abroad are eligible to participate.
  • Any recognized law school/college/university shall be entitled to send only 1 (one) team to the Competition.
  • The participating team shall comprise a minimum of two and a maximum of three members. In a team of two members, both the members shall be designated as Speakers. In a team of three members, two members shall be designated as Speakers and the third member of the team shall be designated as a Researcher.
  • No additional member or team coach is allowed to accompany the team.

Registration: The Institutions should provisionally register themselves by sending an e-mail to rmlscconlinemoot@gmail.com, latest by November 10, 2018 (23:59 hrs IST). Institutions must complete their registration by sending an e-mail to rmlscconlinemoot@gmail.com, latest by December 5, 2018 (23:59 hrs IST). The e-mail should include a scanned copy of the duly filled registration form.
