The Centre for Communication Governance at National Law University Delhi and the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, Faculty of Law at University of Oxford organised the ninth edition of the South Asia Rounds of the Oxford Price Media Law Moot Court Competition from 22nd-25th November, 2018. The annual Moot Court Competition challenges students to engage in comparative research of legal standards at the national, regional and international levels, and to develop their arguments (in written and oral forms) on cutting-edge questions in media and ICT law.

After two highly-charged Semi Final match-ups and a split in benches, the teams which made it to the Finals were National Law University, Odisha and Gujarat National Law University. The Finals were judged by Justice Gita Mittal (Chief Justice, Jammu and Kashmir High Court), Justice Rekha Palli (Judge, Delhi High Court), Richard Danbury (Lawyer and Senior Broadcast Journalist, BBC) and Malavika Jayaram (Chairperson, Digital Asia Hub).  Following a very competitive final round, Gujarat National Law University rose victorious in the finals.

BRAC University, Bangladesh; Kathmandu School of Law, Nepal; National Law University Odisha, India and Gujarat National Law University, India will be the representing South Asia at Oxford University for international rounds of the moot.
