As reported by media, the House of Representatives impeached US President Donald Trump.

The 45th US president becomes just the third occupant of the White House in American history to be impeached. Trump will now stand trial in the Senate.

Charges are of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress relating to his dealing with Ukraine and the House investigations into it.

“What is at risk here is the very idea of America,” said Adam Schiff, the lawmaker who headed the impeachment inquiry.

The vote for the first article of impeachment, abuse of power, was passed 230-197 and the second, for obstruction of Congress, 229-198.

Trump is the third president in US history to be impeached by the full House.
